QAQC throughout the project:

a Throughout the Ph 2, Ph 3B & Ph 4, for every 80m3 of Caltite poured, 2 nos. of test cubes were sent for water absorption test.

The test is based on BS1881:Pt122:1983 edition. The water absorption value of all Caltite specimens on 7D must be less than

1.0% under the above test. On top of this, in event if any result fell below the criterion, a series of remedial measures

specified in the project should be followed.

In case if water absorption in ave >1.0% but <2.0%, wait for 28D, apply acrylic based coating onto the related concrete portion if the 28D result is still not in compliance.
In case if water absorption in ave. >2.0% but <3.0%, apply latex based screed onto the related concrete portion.
In case if water absorption in ave. >3.0%, discard and re-cast on own cost.

a In order to ensure the performance of in-situ Caltite was intact, before handover, for every 1,000m2 of B2 level, 2 nos. of 350

- 400mm length, 75 mm dia. in-situ cores were required to send for water absorption test.

a All the horizontal construction joints were done in "step" format, therefore Everdure Waterstop can be installed at the corner

of the step with less disturbance.

Long Term Durability

The whole Suntec City project since fully completed in 1994 has become one of the most popular Convention and Exhibition Centres and Shopping Malls in Singapore. The huge fountain attracts millions of tourists every year and the 90,000m2 carpark is always fully occupied with cars daily. So far, no leakage repair is required.
